One-Stop Shopping Service Gaining Popularity

PRESS RELEASE

There just aren’t enough hours in the day. Many Americans feel even more pressed for time because, although their days haven’t gotten any longer, their list of things to do has. Corporate downsizing and mandatory multitasking add up to stressed-out workers.

Recent studies show that 35% of employees bring work home at least once a week, up from just 25% in 1980. Researchers also say that employees rate the most important aspect in determining their job loyalty as whether management values the importance of workers’ lives outside of work.

Smart companies are recognizing that both they and their employees can benefit from time saving services that provide assistance with juggling personal and professional responsibilities. Finding that it can improve productivity and boost employee morale, many companies are choosing to offer this by enlisting the help of “one-stop shops” that specialize in such tasks.

Concierge services can take care of time-consuming errands, plan a vacation or even provide referral services from trusted and reputable contractors such as plumbers or carpenters.

Of course, not just corporations but many individuals appreciate the convenience that such services provide. Seeking to capitalize on this opportunity, many banks and credit card companies have begun offering concierge service memberships as value-added optional benefits—usually for a hefty annual fee.

In the Tampa area, PrimeTime Concierge, a relatively new but well-connected company, offers business and personal assistance services. And unlike the sometimes impersonal service one can receive from national chain agencies or credit card based concierges, PrimeTime provides local, personal service.

“We provide everything from errand services and eldercare assistance to corporate event planning and desktop publishing,” says Kathy Meyer, PrimeTime director. “People have a variety of needs, so we have a variety of programs.”

One interesting note is that PrimeTime’s clients often, in turn, become vendors.

“We act behind the scenes, coordinating everything and putting people in touch with people who can meet whatever need they might have. Many of our clients provide valuable services themselves and, after using our service, recognize the potential and want to be a part of it,” Meyers notes.

So, what’s the most important service that PrimeTime provides?

“While our selection of services is vast and varied, the most important thing that we offer is time—quality free time, time at the end of the day, time to really live,” says Meyers.
